HAYDEE

Haydee Yamane is a Brazilian photographer based in Tokyo. Her journey started in Rio de Janeiro, where she was born. When she was a toddler, her mother and she moved to Japan. She herself is one eighth Japanese and also very much intervened with her Japanese heritage. Haydee also used to live in Jordan, where she first experienced the shattering feeling of not feeling like you belong. The cultural differences in Jordan were quite hard to compensate for her.
Also, the struggle of moving countries and learning all these languages but not really being able to speak one fluently is a big topic to Haydee.For her, photography is and always will be her preferred medium to communicate. When we met Haydee in Tokyo, she told us that it is hard for her to put her  feelings into words. Thus, she expresses those feelings through her photography.
