Born and raised in the vibrant cultural landscape of western Uganda, Nana, also known as Itsmdnyt—a name given to her by her grandfather because she was “as dark skinned as midnight”—emerges as a beacon of musical innovation. With a penchant for blending traditional African drums into her compositions, she captivates audiences with her eclectic soundscapes.
Despite not yet releasing her debut EP, Itsmdnyt’s work ethic resonates with tireless dedication and an unwavering commitment to artistic integrity. Beyond her music, she spearheads the “Midnight Tsunami” movement, fostering a nurturing haven for creatives in Kampala, Uganda.
